Strictly 21 and Above Only

Cartalotto enforces a strict minimum age requirement of 21 years. This is not a formality — it is a non-negotiable player protection policy that we take seriously at every level of our operation.

Every new account registration on Cartalotto triggers our Know Your Customer (KYC) age verification process. Players are required to submit a copy of a valid Malaysian government-issued identification document — such as their MyKad, Driver's Licence, or Passport — confirming they are 21 or above before their account becomes fully operational. Accounts where age cannot be verified will be suspended and any real-money balance returned.

We also support the use of parental control software for households with young people. If you are a parent or guardian, we strongly encourage you to install filtering software on shared devices to prevent access to gambling websites by those under 21.

Underage registration is a serious offence. Any account found to belong to a person under 21 will be immediately terminated. All game history will be voided and any deposits returned via the original payment method. We may also report the incident to relevant Malaysian authorities.

21+

Why 21?

Malaysian law sets the minimum legal age for casino-style gambling at 21 years. This age threshold exists because research consistently shows that the developing brain — particularly in areas governing impulse control, risk assessment, and long-term decision making — continues maturing well into early adulthood. Gambling before this threshold is associated with significantly higher rates of problem gambling development later in life.

Cartalotto fully supports this requirement, both as a legal obligation and as a genuine commitment to player welfare across Malaysia — from Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya to Penang, Johor Bahru, and beyond.

Player Protection Tools

Cartalotto has built a comprehensive suite of tools that put you in control of your gambling activity. All tools are available directly from your account settings — free to use, no questions asked.

💰

Deposit Limits

Set a cap on how much you can deposit into your Cartalotto account over a defined period — daily, weekly, or monthly. Once a limit is in place, the Platform will prevent any deposit that would cause you to exceed it.

Increases to deposit limits take effect after a 24-hour cooling-off period. Decreases take effect immediately. This asymmetry is deliberate — it protects you at moments when impulse might otherwise override good judgement.

🎲

Wagering Limits

Set limits on the total amount you are permitted to wager over a given time period, independent of your deposit activity. This is particularly useful for sports bettors who want to cap their total staking volume across EPL, Liga Super Malaysia, or other markets.

Wagering limits can be applied at the platform level or restricted to specific game categories such as live casino tables or slots.

⏱️

Session Time Limits & Reminders

Configure in-session alerts that notify you when you have been active for a defined period. Reminders pop up at the interval you choose — you can dismiss them and continue, or use them as a cue to take a break.

You can also set a hard session time limit, after which the Platform will automatically log you out regardless of any active game round. The session timer resets every midnight.

❄️

Cool-Off Periods

Take a temporary break from Cartalotto without permanently closing your account. Cool-off periods range from 24 hours to six weeks. During a cool-off period, you cannot log in, deposit, or place any bets on the Platform.

Cool-off periods cannot be reversed before they expire. Any promotional emails or notifications will also be suspended for the duration of your break.

🚫

Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is our most powerful player protection tool. When you self-exclude, your Cartalotto account is immediately locked for the duration you specify — from six months to five years, or permanently. The exclusion cannot be reversed during the active period.

To request self-exclusion, contact our support team via live chat. Your account will be suspended within minutes of your confirmed request. Any remaining real-money balance will be returned to your verified payment method.

📊

Activity History & Reality Checks

Your account dashboard gives you a complete view of your deposit history, withdrawal history, game session logs, and net win/loss position — with no figures hidden or obscured. Transparency about your activity is the first step in staying in control.

We recommend reviewing your activity summary at least once a month. If the numbers concern you, our support team is available 24/7 to discuss your options.

Warning Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling often develops gradually. The warning signs can be subtle at first — and that is precisely what makes early self-awareness so important. The following are common indicators that your relationship with gambling may be moving in an unhealthy direction.

You do not need to check every box for this to be relevant to you. Even two or three of the following patterns — especially if they are recurring — are worth paying attention to. Cartalotto's responsible gambling tools and support resources are available to all players at any point, not only at crisis stage.

If you are unsure whether your gambling habits are healthy, speaking to someone is always the right call. Talian Kasih (15999) is a free Malaysian government helpline available 24/7. A call takes five minutes. Getting help early is infinitely better than waiting until things are serious.

Gambling with money that is allocated for essential expenses — rent, groceries, bills, school fees — or borrowing money specifically to gamble.
Feeling restless, irritable, or anxious when not gambling, or when trying to reduce or stop gambling activity.
Chasing losses — placing further bets to try to recover money lost in previous sessions, rather than accepting losses and stopping.
Hiding or lying about your gambling activity to family members, friends, or your partner.
Needing to bet increasing amounts to get the same feeling of excitement or satisfaction (tolerance build-up).
Gambling as a primary way to escape from stress, depression, loneliness, or difficult life situations.
Neglecting work, studies, relationships, or personal responsibilities because of time spent gambling or thinking about gambling.
Having repeatedly tried and failed to cut back or stop gambling on your own.

Quick Self-Assessment Checklist

Reflect honestly on the following questions. If you answer "yes" to three or more, consider using our player protection tools or reaching out for support.

Have you spent more money on gambling than you originally planned on more than one occasion in the past month?
Have you gambled to try to win back money you had already lost?
Have you ever felt guilty, ashamed, or anxious after a gambling session?
Have you borrowed money, sold possessions, or used savings specifically to fund gambling?
Has someone close to you — a partner, family member, or friend — expressed concern about your gambling?
Have you missed work, family commitments, or other important obligations because of gambling?
Do you find yourself thinking about gambling frequently, even when you are doing other things?
Have you tried to set limits on your gambling but found yourself unable to stick to them?

This checklist is for self-reflection only — it is not a clinical diagnostic tool. If any of these questions resonated with you, please reach out to Talian Kasih (15999), GamCare, or contact Cartalotto's support team to discuss your protection options. All conversations are confidential.

Tips for Healthy Gambling

For the vast majority of Cartalotto players, gambling is a recreational activity they manage well. The following habits help keep it that way. These are not rules imposed on you — they are practical habits that experienced, in-control gamblers consistently practise.

📌
Set a budget before you start, every time.

Decide the maximum you are willing to spend on a given session before you open the lobby. Treat it the same way you treat an entertainment budget — cinema tickets, a meal out, a Saturday spent at a football match. Once it is gone, the session ends.

⏰
Decide on a time limit before each session.

Set a timer on your phone independently of the Platform's session alerts. This creates a second, physical reminder that is harder to dismiss than an on-screen notification.

🧘
Never gamble when you are emotional, stressed, or tired.

Emotional states impair judgment and lower impulse control. Decisions made under emotional pressure — including the urge to chase a loss — are rarely the same decisions you would make with a clear head.

🚶
Walk away after a big win, not just after a loss.

Knowing when to stop — not just at the bottom, but also at the top — is the hallmark of a player who is genuinely in control. Locking in a win is not weakness. It is discipline.

🤝
Talk to someone you trust.

Many players find it helpful to have someone in their life — a partner, a close friend — who knows they gamble and with whom they can be honest about their activity. Social accountability is one of the most effective self-regulation tools available.

What Responsible Gambling Is Not

There are a few common misconceptions about responsible gambling that are worth clearing up, particularly for players newer to online casino environments.

✗

It is not about being "too cautious". Responsible gambling is about being in control — not about playing less or enjoying the platform less. Millions of people gamble regularly and responsibly.

✗

Gambling is not a reliable income strategy. Over any significant sample size, the house edge means the expected outcome for the player is negative. Approaching gambling as a supplementary income is a reliable path toward financial harm.

✗

Past results do not predict future outcomes. A slot machine that has not paid out in 200 spins is not "due" for a win. Every spin, hand, or ball draw is an independent event with fixed probabilities.

✗

Self-exclusion is not "giving up". Requesting a cooling-off period or self-exclusion is a proactive, mature decision. It demonstrates self-awareness and takes courage. It is one of the most positive choices a player who is struggling can make.
